I pitched The Javvy Jar packaging concept to fill a gap in Javvy’s lineup, featuring sleek black and purple colors with bold typography. The design elevates the brand’s premium image while maintaining its energetic, modern appeal.
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Javvy brand is known for its bold, high-quality coffee, but their existing packaging was missing a premium touch that could truly set it apart. I identified a gap in the brand’s packaging lineup and saw an opportunity to introduce a new product presentation that would align better with Javvy's energetic and sophisticated identity. This led to the creation of The Javvy Jar, a sleek, modern packaging concept designed to elevate the brand’s premium offerings and appeal to coffee enthusiasts.
OBJECTIVE:
The primary goal was to design a new packaging concept that would stand out in the crowded coffee market while reinforcing the brand’s identity. I sought to create a product line that could be both visually striking and cohesive with the existing Javvy brand, all while enhancing the premium perception of their coffee products.
DESIGN PROCESS:
The project began when I noticed that Javvy did not yet offer packaging that communicated the premium, bold nature of their coffee. After analyzing their existing designs and the competitive landscape, I saw a unique opportunity to create a fresh packaging concept that would resonate with consumers.
I pitched the idea of introducing a new product line, The Javvy Jar, complete with a refreshed logo extension and a bold new slogan, "Sip Pure, Live Powerful." This new product line would embody the essence of Javvy's brand while offering a more modern, clean look that would stand out on shelves.
For the design, I used a cylindrical jar and rectangular box combination, which created a visually appealing contrast. The black and purple color scheme was chosen to convey sophistication and energy, while the bold white typography made the brand name and slogan pop. To add a touch of character and uniqueness, I incorporated star and coffee bean accents, subtly highlighting the brand’s personality.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:
One challenge was ensuring that the new packaging design felt cohesive with Javvy’s existing branding, while still offering a fresh, standout look. I carefully balanced the color palette and typography choices to maintain consistency, while also elevating the design to fit the premium feel I envisioned.
Another challenge was making sure the new packaging would work effectively both for physical retail and digital marketing mockups. I created multiple versions of the mockups to evaluate how well the design translated across different platforms, ensuring it would make an impact no matter the medium.
RESULTS:
The final design for The Javvy Jar successfully filled the gap I identified, creating a bold and modern packaging concept that felt cohesive with the brand's identity. The refreshed logo extension and new slogan resonated with the target audience, helping the brand communicate a premium, yet approachable image.
This new packaging concept not only added a standout product to the Javvy lineup but also served as an eye-catching tool for digital and physical marketing. It reinforced the idea of Javvy as a leader in the premium coffee space and positioned The Javvy Jar as a memorable, dynamic product that appeals to modern coffee lovers.
