VEE'S TEES

Building a Brand System Across 7,000+ SKUs

Creative Direction • Brand Strategy • Identity • Campaigns • Merchandise • Ecommerce • Social & Motion

OVERVIEW

Vee’s Tees began with a simple idea: create the kinds of T-shirts I wanted to wear.

As both client and Creative Director, I built the brand from the ground up—identity, merchandise, campaigns, lifestyle creative, social and motion, ecommerce and customer experience.

What began as a print-on-demand experiment grew into roughly 100 designs and product concepts expanded across garment styles, colors and sizes into 7,000+ individual SKUs, sold across Etsy, eBay, Walmart Marketplace and Shopify.

The challenge quickly became bigger than designing shirts:

How do you build a creative system capable of supporting an entire brand?

THE BRAND

Wear Your Story. Rock Your Style.

Vee’s Tees was built around recognition—that instant “OH MY GOD. I REMEMBER THAT.” response to the music, movies, television, art and cultural references that become part of how we identify ourselves.

The visual language grew from that same nostalgia: yellow and black, cyan and pink, halftones, expressive typography, cutout photography and controlled visual chaos.

Rather than beginning with a formal brand guide, the identity developed through use. Recurring creative decisions became recognizable rules, creating a system that could stretch across merchandise, campaigns, ecommerce and content without losing its personality.

FROM DESIGN TO SYSTEM

One design could become multiple garments, colorways and sizes. Products became families. Families became collections. Collections became campaigns.

As the catalog expanded, I developed repeatable systems for product imagery, controlled colorways, sizing information, collection launches, lifestyle presentation and cross-merchandising.

That structure allowed roughly 100 designs and product concepts to support a catalog of more than 7,000 sellable SKUs without requiring 7,000 individual creative decisions.

THE CONTENT ENGINE

Early Vee’s Tees releases followed a weekly-drop schedule supported by teasers, launch creative, individual product features, lifestyle imagery and platform-specific social content.

Performance and experience changed the system over time. Weekly drops became monthly. Seasonal campaigns moved earlier. Best sellers expanded into additional garments. Content templates and batch production made recurring communication more manageable.

Instead of treating each deliverable as an isolated asset, I built creative designed to be adapted, reused and extended across the brand.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

I approached ecommerce from the customer’s side first:

What would I expect to happen if I were shopping here?

That informed store navigation, product recommendations, sizing systems, gift cards, promotional thresholds, review collection, customer-photo content and post-purchase communication.

As the business moved between marketplaces, those systems evolved too—from general thank-you cards to channel-specific inserts, review QR codes and Shopify customer touchpoints.

THE RESULT

Vee’s Tees became more than an apparel catalog. It became an interconnected brand system spanning:

Brand → Product → Campaign → Content → Ecommerce → Customer Experience

Running it showed me where creative judgment matters, where repeatable systems create scale, and where automation or specialization makes the work stronger.

It also clarified the way I approach creative direction:

Understand the experience. Build the system. Then make the things.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Vee’s Tees is currently between chapters.

The next iteration will keep what made the brand distinctive—nostalgia, culture, personality and its unapologetically loud visual language—while applying a tighter edit to merchandise, product architecture and the overall customer experience.

Wear Your Story. Rock Your Style.
